Location: Pittsfield, Maine

Schedule: Monday‑Friday 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM, 3‑day 12‑hour rotational weekends (3‑day week)

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for a hospital‑based position at Northern Lights Hospital. The role supports high‑complexity testing, ensuring quality, safety, and integrity of patient results, while meeting the needs of patients and clinicians.

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analytical testing, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Ensure proficiency testing samples are processed consistently with patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and other safety guidelines.
• Adhere to laboratory policies and troubleshoot performance issues, notifying senior technologist or supervisor as needed.

• Education: BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, or previous qualification as a technologist under 42 CFR 493.
• Experience: 1 year of clinical high‑complexity testing preferred.
