JOB SUMMARY

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Production Planning Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in streamlining our production process. In this engaging position, you’ll harness the power of Lenco’s cutting‑edge planning software to generate work orders and job travelers, ensuring our production departments operate at peak efficiency. Your contributions won’t stop there; you’ll spend valuable time on the manufacturing floor, distributing work orders and providing hands‑on support to our production staff, addressing any inquiries or necessary adjustments with precision and care.

As a crucial link between various departments, you’ll be instrumental in the creation and ongoing refinement of our bill of materials. Your expertise will guide our purchasing department in maintaining optimal inventory levels, guaranteeing that materials and products are readily available for production when needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Create production ready Work Orders in ERP software
  • Work order maintenance/ re-explosion and posting of work orders.
  • Drive work orders thought the approval process and out to production in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Work order bills of material to ensure allocation of purchased and manufactured items.
  • Ensure special projects have all materials and products on order and identify any roadblocks.
  • Identify and fix missing allocation via coordination with purchasing, production and stock room.
  • Work with engineering and document control to identify missing ERP data in paperwork.
  • Identify needed customer instructions needed for shipment with orders
  • Work with purchasing department to ensure materials are on schedule for start of production.
  • Work in an efficient and timely manner to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies

INTERACTION WITH
  • Engineering Department
  • Various levels of internal staff within a variety of departments
  • Customers and vendors
  • Sales, Production, Quality, Tech Services, and Purchasing Departments
EXPERIENCE
  • Solid foundation of computer skills, file management, PDF creation
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and similar
  • Previous data experience
  • Working within a production and manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Working knowledge of supply chain and bill of materials is a plus
  • Working with ERP software suites is a plus
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred or equivalent experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently while maintaining scheduled deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to maintain focus
  • Basic math skills required
  • Reading abilities required (Including blueprints and schematics)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Follow safety and materials policies and procedures
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to pass physical exam
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting and kneeling
  • Vision a minimum 20/40 with or without corrective lenses
  • Good hearing
