Machine Operator - 3rd Shift
Peel Master Packaging Corporation, A Spectrum Plastics Group
Schedule:
11 pm – 7 am, Monday – Friday.
Produces product, conducts assemblies, inspects and packages parts that conform to defined quality standards and meet the required production schedule.
Responsibilities- Review product information contained in the Work Instructions before running the press or performing specific tasks.
- Arrive at the assigned workstation on time and prepared.
- Review job performance and details with the previous shift operator.
- Conduct assignments under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor or Product Specialist.
- Maintain records and fill out required paperwork for each job (Production Sheet, scrap sheets, etc.).
- Ensure all components, supplies and fixtures needed are at the press per Work Instructions.
- Notify Shift Supervisor or Clean Room Tech and Quality Inspector of rejects and quality defects.
- Perform secondary operations at the press such as degating and trimming to remove flash and other minor finishing operations to meet specifications.
- Package parts according to the Work Instructions.
- Segregate parts required by QC as noted in the Work Instructions.
- Notify Shift Supervisor or Process Tech of any changes occurring to the process, molded part or scrap rate.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist in general housekeeping duties as directed by Shift Supervisor or Clean Room Tech.
- When not assigned to a different press during downtime, perform tasks such as making boxes, placing completed boxes on skids, and cleaning and organizing the production area.
- Monitor material level in hoppers and inform the Material Handler when low on material.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and commit to continuous improvement in all job functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school degree or equivalent preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of molds and injection molding.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, use judgment, concentrate and perform simple math.
- Good communication skills and legible writing.
- Ability to accurately fill out paperwork as required.
- Ability to load and unload inserts, metal hand loads or plastic parts from an injection molding press in a manner that minimizes damage.
- Understand quality inspection requirements of each part and make accurate judgments of acceptable parts.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good vision.
- Manual dexterity.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Repetitive motions required.
- Move 1100 lb. gaylords with a pallet jack.
- Frequent bending, squatting, and twisting motions.
- Ability to climb stepladders and stairs.
Special Requirements
- Available for overtime as needed.
- Noise level uncontrolled (ear plugs provided).
- Perform job duties in accordance with ISO 13485/9001, including ISO audits.
- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed.
- Ensure that all equipment safeties are not altered or defeated.
