Clinical Team Leader

The Clinical Team Leader, a registered professional nurse, functions as a healthcare professional responsible for the safe delivery of patient-centered, goal oriented care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Clinical Team Leader also directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

• Provides clinical coordination of nursing unit activity, enforces quality initiatives, and is knowledgeable of the operating budget to maintain fiscal responsibility.

• Experience:
  • Three to five years current experience as an RN in medical/surgical or designated specialty, including charge responsibilities.
  • Evidence as a professional role model and leader: recognized by peers as an experienced and competent clinician, demonstrates ability to delegate, active participant in informal staff education, excellent interpersonal skills, dependable work schedule, participation in hospital mission activities (committee participation, QI participation, preceptor experience, etc.), excellent verbal and written communication, energy and enthusiasm to motivate others, leadership in high stress situations, professional conduct with patients/families/physicians/staff, good judgment in assignments, critical thinking skills, professional attitude, understanding of nursing concepts, treating co‑workers with dignity and respect.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years current experience in Critical Care, including charge responsibilities.
  • Recognized by peers as an experienced and competent critical care clinician.
  • Thorough knowledge of critical care nursing principles and procedures.
• Education and Training:
  • BSN required (or currently matriculated in a BSN program).
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• License, Certification & Registration:
  • RN License – Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts.
  • BLS.
  • ACLS and TNCC certified.
  • CCRN – CCRN certification within one year of hire.
• Other Requirements:
  • Continuing education in accordance with State regulations and compliance with unit-specific scope of practice.
  • Must be able to speak English in an understandable manner.
  • Must possess adequate sight/hearing or prosthetics to meet position requirements.
