Join Life Path as a full‑time Protective Services Worker in our Pittsfield office, serving Berkshire County. You will receive a $1500 signing bonus and an excellent benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, HRA, 401(k), flex scheduling, generous PTO, mileage reimbursement, and the opportunity to earn additional compensation through on‑call coverage.

As a Protective Services Worker, you conduct thorough assessments of reports of elder abuse, neglect, financial exploitation and self‑neglect. This role includes consumer home visits throughout Berkshire County on a daily basis, providing services and/or referrals to help mitigate risks, and forming positive partnerships with local agencies and professionals.

Essential Job Functions
  • Receive reports of abuse, neglect, self‑neglect, financial exploitation of elders 60 and over.
  • Conduct in‑depth investigations to determine if abuse, neglect, or harm occurred.
  • Perform daily in‑person visits to consumers' homes.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide crisis intervention.
  • Develop and implement service plans with elders’ participation and approval.
  • Determine need for court petition for protective orders or guardianship with supervisory input.
  • Initiate and participate in case conferences with service providers and family.
  • Collaborate with Life Path staff, service providers, and other professionals.
  • Report serious abuse or death to the DA’s office.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records in clients' files.
  • Participate in on‑call emergency beeper coverage.
  • Educate the community on what constitutes abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.
  • Establish linkages with other professionals involved in protective service cases.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, criminal justice, public health, gerontology or related field, or advanced studies.
  • Equivalent experience conducting home visits and crisis intervention.
  • Outstanding crisis intervention, detail‑oriented, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to establish positive relations.
  • Documentation and record‑keeping accuracy.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Time management.
  • Clinical skills and compliance/regulation experience.

Position pays $25.46 per hour + 6% pay differential for bilingual skills. $1500 sign‑on bonus payable in two equal installments at 60 days and 9 months of employment. Opportunity to earn additional compensation by serving on the on‑call team after six months.
