At MKBC, we save lives every day by providing blood products to hospitals in PA and NJ. The Lead Staff (Lead Phlebotomist) position supports the blood center by collecting blood donations safely from volunteer donors in a compassionate and professional manner. The Lead Staff ensures all staff follow procedures and represent the blood center in the best way possible. The anticipated salary starts at $21.28 per hour and is commensurate with experience.

- Lead, mentor, train and be a role model for the mobile drives and fixed site
- Ensure staff provide excellent customer service
- Plan, prioritize, set goals, and establish staff assignments; communicate shift expectations
- Manage all activities, supplies, and equipment required for successful collection events; ensure events operate safely, smoothly, and efficiently
- Review daily QC for accuracy and completion
- Ensure staff follows all policies and procedures
The Role
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Medical assistant certification or phlebotomy certification (strongly preferred)
- 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist (required)
- 2 years of experience as a team lead in a healthcare setting (required)
- Ability to handle difficult situations and persons tactfully and professionally
- Excellent ability to use relevant software
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills; seek guidance as needed
This position reports directly to the Donor Collections Manager.
Work hours:
7am–3pm or 12pm–8pm. Staff work a variable schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, and on‑call to cover weekends and holidays. A schedule is provided two weeks in advance. The first two weeks of training will take place onsite at our blood center at 1465 Valley Center Parkway, Bethlehem, PA.
