LPN - Professional Development Licensed Practical Nurse Ambulatory Nursing

The Professional Development Licensed Practical Nurse Ambulatory Nursing is responsible for supporting nursing clinical practice, budgetary personnel activities, regulatory activities associated with the clinical department, and professional development coordination assistance. Assures compliance with the directives, policies and applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for developing and initiating improvements in the organization and delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care.

This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly. Typically, 8:00 a.m.

-4:30 p.m., but may vary based on needs of Ambulatory Nursing Administration team and clinic needs.

Travel to clinics and regional classroom locations in the NE region will be required, as well as occasional travel to the Central region.

A minimum of 2 years LPN work experience is required.

• Assists professional development supervisor with orientation, onboarding, ongoing competency evaluation and integration of new employees, including database management
• Maintains current knowledge base clinically and administratively through active participation in professional, and educational nursing activities to enhance skills as manager, leader, and clinical resource.
• Provides educational reinforcement support as delegated by the ambulatory nursing leadership team
• Assist professional development coordinator with Ambulatory Nurse Leader program
• Assist with ambulatory clinical skill mix assessments systemwide, providing clinical operations teams assistance with nursing skill mix optimization.
• Assist in review of ambulatory nursing position justifications to ensure appropriate scope assignment.
• Supports organizational and site-specific efforts for service excellence, financial accountability, quality improvement, and patient safety. Maintains documentation for fiscal impact tracing.
• Evaluates quality of care administered in assigned areas, makes rounds, and assures timely communication of significant operational issues.
• Focuses on empirical quality outcomes related to clinical practice.
