Job Summary

The TM Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring inventory shortages are at or below store goals, maximizing sales by receiving and shipping freight in a timely manner, interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, delivering a legendary customer experience, and promoting a safe and productive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Work scheduled shifts with flexibility for varied hours, days, nights, weekends, overtime.
  • Deliver Legendary Customer Service (GUR(A)).
    • Greet the Customer.
    • Uncover Customer’s Needs & Wants.
    • Recommend Product Solutions.
    • Ask the customer to add value & appreciate the customer.
  • Process inbound and outbound freight.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control and adhere to loss prevention standards.
  • Recover merchandise.
  • Participate in mandatory freight process.
  • Keep a clean, organized, safe work area.
  • Maintain, recover, stock, and tag assigned work areas including all merchandise displayed outside.
  • Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures.
  • Ensure extraordinary shopping experience for customers.
  • Rotate and disposition dated products.
  • Assemble merchandise.
  • Operate forklift and cardboard baler; manage poultry as required.
  • Complete all documentation associated with duties.
  • Obtain required licenses or certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Shipping/receiving experience preferred but not required. Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge strongly preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to read, write and count accurately. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
  • Basic computer skills/experience.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
Working Conditions
  • Working environment is favorable, generally indoors with moderate noise.
  • Work shifts vary from one store to another, generally are no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
  • Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.). Lighting and temperature adequate.
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Promote a safe work environment for team members and customers, adhering to company safety training and guidelines.
Physical Requirements
  • Non-sedentary position.
  • Ability to move throughout store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
  • Ability to constantly operate forklift.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run a store.
  • Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper material handling equipment.
  • Ability to lift or reach merchandise overhead occasionally.
  • Ability to move and transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
  • Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
  • Ability to operate store equipment such as computer, cash register, and other equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately for documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to process information/merchandise through the point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to handle contact with birds/poultry.
  • Ability to complete propane dispensing training and certification (if applicable).
  • Ability to travel as required in support of district needs.
