Step into a vital role supporting students and families as a dedicated school-based social worker in a vibrant academic community near Pittston, PA. This full-time contract opportunity spans from ASAP through June 2027, aligning with the school year calendar and providing consistent Monday through Friday hours (3537.5 hours per week). Multiple positions are available to serve a diverse K4 caseload, with opportunities focused on Early Support/Academic Support (ES/AS) for various grade levels including K2, K4, and a K12 group.
Key
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience working with school-age children, ideally within elementary settings
- Strong understanding of social-emotional learning, behavioral interventions, and family engagement
- Ability to collaborate professionally with teachers, counselors, parents, and administrators
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect services to students, including crisis intervention, counseling, and resource referral
- Develop and implement strategies that support student social, emotional, and academic well-being
- Conduct assessments and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to design and monitor intervention plans
- Partner with school staff and caregivers to enhance student outcomes
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with applicable laws and school policies
