Compensation: $110,000 - $135,000 DOE

A growing service-based organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This hands-on role is responsible for operational accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a proactive accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and cash management.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
- Coordinate external audits and assist with tax compliance.
- Monitor cash flow and banking activity.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Partner with operational leaders to support business objectives.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Previous Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience managing month-end close and reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with in service, transportation, field services, construction, manufacturing, distribution, or similar industries.
- Track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
