Accounting Manager

Location: North Orange County, CA (Onsite)
Compensation: $110,000 - $135,000 DOE
Benefits: Full Benefits Package

A growing service-based organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This hands‑on role is responsible for operational accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a proactive accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Coordinate external audits and assist with tax compliance.
• Monitor cash flow and banking activity.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Partner with operational leaders to support business objectives.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Previous Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end close and reconciliations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Experience with in service, transportation, field services, construction, manufacturing, distribution, or similar industries.
• Track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
