Position OverviewThe Process Engineer works individually and collaboratively as part of the team to efficiently meet production requirements while adhering to EHS and quality standards. The role leads process changes and drives continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities- Improve productivity through process optimization using time studies or data analysis.
- Create and implement standard work.
- Partner with area supervisors to drive productivity improvement and departmental KPIs & TTIs.
- Lead corrective action teams to resolve product and process variation.
- Lead first‑pass reliability improvement teams.
- Complete process review reports.
- Use root‑cause analysis to resolve product quality issues.
- Lead Kaizen and Lean initiatives to improve process and material flow.
- Implement methods to reduce waste.
- Participate on cross‑functional interdepartmental improvement teams.
- Improve operational data collection processes.
- Assist in hiring high‑potential, motivated personnel.
- Provide effective training.
- Source and procure equipment, tools, and supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations.
- Champion ISO compliance across the department; develop and draft procedures as required.
- Provide technical problem‑solving for production, process improvement, quality, service, and scrap reduction issues.
- Improve machine and process reliability by working with maintenance teams on TPM/PM and other preventive maintenance processes.
- Lead all manufacturing and operational aspects of scaling up new products, including process development, standard work creation, operator training, and process parameter establishment.
- Make capital project requests, including process investigation, equipment specification, vendor selection, and coordination of work and startup.
- Conduct FEs and MEs on the manufacturing floor, including experimental design, paperwork, coordination, operator communication, testing, and reporting.
- Lead improvement teams: create mission, scope, project plan, and execute, communicating progress timely.
- Mentor interns and junior engineers.
- Provide direction to production crews during experimental trials.
- Lead formal process improvement teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum one year of recent work experience.
- Local candidates only—must reside within 30 miles of 92870.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Mini‑Tab.
- Ability to interpret test results and generate practical solutions to complex problems.
- Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal).
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and travel documentation.

- Six Sigma Green Belt or above certification.
- Experience with formal problem‑solving, process improvement tools and methods, and statistical analysis (Lean and Six Sigma).
The current pay range for this position is $80,000–$90,000 per year. Pay is based on market conditions, location, job‑related knowledge and skills, education, training, and experience. Employment is company reserves the right to modify pay and any discretionary compensation program at any time.
