American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment requiring prior travel experience and a valid CA RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.

• Medical Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM, Monday-Friday
• Floating required
• Weekend coverage required as needed

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required in-hand
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in acute care and Med/Surg specialty required
• Epic EMR experience required and must be documented in work history
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Two supervisor references required
• Experience with IV therapy, port access, blood product administration, PICC/peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience managing GI conditions including bariatric surgery, bowel obstruction, and ostomy care
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with renal/genitourinary care including CBI and hemodialysis management
• Experience managing cardiac drips, PCA, and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias
• Telemetry monitoring and rapid response/code team experience
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge

• Care for patients across Med/Surg, Tele, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, and Plastics specialties
• Must be comfortable managing total joint replacement, post-angiogram, and surgical drain patients
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year to return as a traveler
