Job Summary/Responsibilities:

• Work with the athletic and activities departments at district middle schools in order to schedule practices and events for Special Olympics
• Assist with coaching basketball team and track team
• Assist head coach with coordinating practice times, game schedules and relaying parent information
• Experience in coaching of players, player supervision
• Strong organizational, collaboration and communication skills
• Promote teamwork and fair play
• Working knowledge of specific sport fitness, safety methods, techniques for safe participation of players in their contests
• Travel between District #202 schools and to events outside of the district is required
• Must be familiar with the procedures and requirements set forth by Special Olympics of Illinois and complete any necessary training and paperwork required by Special Olympics of Illinois.

Certification/License Requirement and Endorsements:

• State of Illinois Professional Educator License registered in Will County OR
• State of Illinois Substitute Teaching License registered in Will County OR
