Job Purpose and SummaryWithin our Retail locations, we bring the promise of better health to life with heart every day, and our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on this promise.
As a Technician, you will assist the pharmacy team in ensuring that pharmacy operations run smoothly and efficiently. Technicians are often the first point of contact for patients and customers, delivering a safe, accurate, and compassionate experience.
Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication.
Once in role, technicians must complete rigorous training and meet all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to state Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
Job Responsibilities- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations, and resolving patient issues.
- Complete basic inventory activities (e.g., putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and wait‑bin inventories).
- Support a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, traveling to stores in the market as required.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
- Deliver additional patient health care services such as immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntarily staffing off‑site clinics, where allowed by law and with required training and certification.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status by completing additional licensure and training required by state regulations.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions, reporting events per public health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information; track and document each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure, etc.).
- If the state board does not mandate a minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age.
- If the state board does not mandate a minimum education, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, customer service, and teamwork orientation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic mathematical reasoning ability.
- Problem‑resolution skills.
- Physical demands: mobility, lifting up to 20 lbs, repetitive finger use, etc.
- Additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.
- 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and travel within the market as needed.
- Sunday: 11 am – 5 pm
- Monday‑Saturday: 9 am – 7 pm (Saturday 10 am – 6 pm)
- All shifts are flexible and all weekends are required.

Pay Range$16.00 – $25.00 hourly. Pay depends on experience, education, geography and other factors.
