Job Title: Material Handler
Base pay: $21.40 per hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: Mon – Fri 7am – 3pm (Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule, especially during holidays.)
- Receive, store, pick, and distribute material and products within the establishment.
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved or distributed.
- Transport materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and distribute items to production areas.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets.
- Mark materials with identifying information; open bales, crates, and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials received or distributed; weigh or count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Be certified to drive material handling equipment; transport stored items within the warehouse; load and unload trailers of palletized and non-palletized product.
- Utilize manual and automated material handling equipment.
- Follow safety and hygiene guidelines for housekeeping and personal protection; keep work area clean and aisles clear.
- Store supplies in designated areas and report defective equipment; follow safe lifting and carrying instructions.
- Report all job-related injuries to supervision; take photos for documentation as needed; use computer to enter records.
- Climb or work at heights of material tanks where applicable; may climb into tank trailers to check seals and take samples.
- May prepare and conduct cycle counts of inventory; record counts on cycle count sheets.
- Overtime may be required; support Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain).
- May perform other duties as required.
High School Diploma or GED and/or 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing environment required. Prior experience with Oracle or similar WMS system; minimum 1 year in a warehouse position; forklift experience is preferred.

Work EnvironmentNoise level is quiet in office areas but moderate on the warehouse floor. Temperature is ambient and varies with seasonal changes.
Compensation and BenefitsIndividual base pay depends on work location and factors such as experience, skills, and education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
