We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Cook at Hendricks Behavioral Hospital (HBH). In this role, the Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets within The Joint Commission, CMS, state, and OSHA standards and regulations.

Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh

Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients

Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods

Present, garnish and arrange final dishes

Occasionally serve food Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes

Handle and store ingredients and food Maintain food safety and sanitation standards

Your Experience Matters

What we’re looking for:

Education:

High school diploma preferred.

Experience:

Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in quantity cooking, a basic knowledge of modified diets; training in food service sanitation and possession of food service food handler’s permit as required; experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils; and some prior kitchen supervisory experience helpful.

Additional Skill Requirements:
Crisis prevention/management training within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

Compensation:

This is a full-time role and the expected compensation range is $18.50 - $22.50 hourly. We’re eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be provided to experience and skill level. Join us as our Cook!
