Job DescriptionCandidate will possess personal knowledge and skills to perform preventative maintenance using UPS standards. Work includes daily scheduled tasks and urgent repairs needed by the operation.
Typical duties include diagnosing and repairing gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic and air brake systems, and electrical systems. Shift work may vary from Sunday through Saturday.
Ideal Candidate- Minimum 5 years of documented Gas/Diesel engine, hydraulic and/or electrical automotive mechanic experience – REQUIRED.
- Minimum 5 years of automotive and/or heavy truck equipment experience.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computer.
- Possess a full complement of personal hand tools and ability to furnish hand tools up to 1/2” drive.
- Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs; stand, walk, and pivot frequently.
- Full‑time: 8‑10 hours per day, 4‑5 days per week.
- Report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday consistently.
- Work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime depending on service needs.
- Sit infrequently during the workday.
- Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage and manipulate equipment and packages weighing up to 70 pounds; assist moving up to 150 pounds.
- Perform simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary.
- Operate standard transmission and power, pneumatic tools.
- Wear personal protective equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of air brake systems, electrical/ABS, and Service Bay Diagnostic Tool.
- Work in environments with variable temperatures, humidity, cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, and inclement weather.
- Cooperate in a diverse work environment and communicate effectively.
- Basic computer knowledge for parts research and time‑card entries.
Employer will not sponsor visas for this position.
Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate.
Starting hourly rate: $37.45.
