Our client in the Real Estate Industry is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Property Accountant.

Base Pay Range

$80,000.00/yr - $/yr

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and tax returns for assigned properties.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Apply GAAP-based accounting principles in all reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and manage budgets and financial forecasts for each property.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of bonus depreciation and tax accounting.
  • Complete CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and communicate results to tenants.
  • Review leases to confirm accurate billing, recoveries, and expense allocations.
  • Collaborate with property managers to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Manage debt compliance reporting and documentation.
  • Support annual audits and coordinate the preparation of required materials.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in property accounting within commercial real estate.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, or Quick Books.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Familiarity with lease administration and tenant reconciliations.
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of construction accounting and job cost modules.
