As a Part Time Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care, you will play a pivotal role in assisting behavioral therapists to create effective behavioral therapy programs tailored to children and adolescents.
Responsibilities- Implementing individualized service plans.
- Providing behavioral interventions in home and community settings.
- Actively managing youth with behavioral challenges.
- Ensuring a safe and supportive environment by developing safety standards and instructing youth on positive behavioral practices.
- Monitoring and documenting observations of youth behavior to allow for necessary modifications to daily activities that align with therapeutic goals.
- Developing and implementing engaging recreational activities that support the emotional and social growth of the youth you care for.
To excel as an Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care Inc., candidates must possess a college degree with one year of work experience or a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED and three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with both the children and their families.
The ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines is crucial for successful implementation of behavioral therapy programs. Candidates should also demonstrate empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents in a supportive and nurturing manner. Prior experience in behavioral interventions and a commitment to ongoing professional development are highly valued attributes for this role.
