Engineering Test Technician (Actalent)

Entry‑Level Electrical Engineering Technician - multiple openings!

Pay: $25/hour

Start Date: Beginning of 2026

• Design & Development:
  Collaborate with electrical engineers to conduct tests and validate designs.
• Test Fixture Design:
  Support production by designing test fixtures and implementing test protocols during manufacturing.
• Design Testing:
  Execute and document test protocols provided by electrical engineers.
• Troubleshooting:
  Diagnose field returns to determine root cause of failure.
• Documentation:
  Prepare detailed test reports and repair evaluation forms for engineering review.
• Prototype Creation:
  Build small proof‑of‑concept prototypes (e.g., cables) for early‑stage design testing.
• PCB Rework:
  Perform soldering and component changes on PCB assemblies during prototype bench testing.

• Proficiency with tools such as multimeters, soldering stations, oscilloscopes.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to diagnose issues and develop solutions.
• Accurate record‑keeping and ability to create clear written reports.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainview, NY.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
