As the Director of Quality
, you will lead and manage a team of up to 15 professionals, including engineers, technicians, inspectors, and administrative staff. You will be responsible for developing and enforcing quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Direct and manage a team of up to 15 professionals.
- Hire, train, and develop staff.
- Establish and enforce quality systems to meet AS9100 and customer requirements.
- Monitor and report quality metrics to leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding quality compliance, audits, and complaints.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to monitor and improve supplier performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Manage departmental budget effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or management-related field (BSEE preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance, including supervisory and managerial roles.
- Experience with FAA regulatory compliance and certification processes.
- Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn and understand complex production processes.
- Quality certifications (CQE, CQA, or similar).
- Experience with AS9100 standards and First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102).
- Material Review Board experience.
- Supplier quality and audit experience.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainview, NY.
Pay And BenefitsPay range: $72.00 - $85.00/hr.
