Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned programs that are of interest and meaning to residents in order to enhance their lives and exceed their active aging lifestyle expectations.
  • Lead assigned Engage Life programs.
  • Offer adequate and diversified recreational activities to residents with sufficient supervision for each activity.
  • Develop programs for residents, including programs designed for residents confined to their rooms.
  • Engage and motivate residents resulting in program participation.
  • Inform residents of upcoming activities and maintain a current schedule of events on the bulletin board.
  • Greet new residents, making a special effort to include and engage them in activities and introduce them to others in the community with similar interests and backgrounds.
  • Assist in planning parties and activities, decorating the community for seasons and holidays, and planning monthly birthday parties to honor residents.
  • Assist in Bright Beginnings including housewarmings.
  • Support and actively participate in the community’s census building initiatives.
  • Maintain records of all activities, resident participation levels, and acceptance of each activity as required by state law.
  • Assist Engage Life Director in enlisting volunteer services to aid the activities program.
  • May drive company vehicle from community to social and other destinations (only if required by community).
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; 3-6 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Able to write simple correspondence.
  • Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
