Join to apply for the Enterprise Architect role at Jobs via Dice
. Our client, The Tri‑Com Consulting Group, is seeking a skilled Enterprise Architect to drive data center relocation and migration projects.

The role is a “boots‑on‑the‑ground” position requiring travel to data center sites and hands‑on collaboration with facilities and IT teams. An in‑person interview is required.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate should have completed at least two data‑center moves, travelled, and been onsite with experience in HVAC, VMware, and security principles surrounding data centers.
  • Data Center Build Coordination (Phase
    1):
    • Provide architectural oversight for new facility readiness—power distribution, UPS/generator, HVAC, structured cabling, rack design, and aisle containment.
    • Validate vendor/facilities designs for scalability, high availability and integration with disaster‑recovery requirements.
    • Coordinate with multiple organizations and vendors in facilities management, construction, and IT engineering.
    • Confirm physical and logical safeguards align with NIST requirements.
    • Work alongside facilities and third‑party vendors to ensure infrastructure (power, cooling, cabling, racks, and physical security) is implemented to enterprise standards.
    • Advise on data‑center security best practices—including physical controls (secured doors, walls, limited/no windows, CCTV, intrusion detection, environmental monitoring), strict access control (role‑based access, least privilege, badge/biometric entry, visitor logging), and alignment with NIST SP 800‑53, NIST SP 800‑171, IRS Pub 1075 where applicable.
  • Migration & Cutover Leadership (Phase
    2):
    • Serve as lead technical authority for migration of VMware clusters, Dell EMC storage platforms, Cisco core networking, and Palo Alto firewalls/security.
    • Develop and maintain detailed cutover/migration runbooks with rollback procedures.
    • Oversee data replication, SRM/DR testing, and workload moves with minimal downtime.
    • Validate end‑to‑end performance (applications, storage, network) post‑migration.
    • Lead after‑hours/weekend cutover windows to protect business continuity.
  • Project Management and Security:
    • Organize and track project activities, milestones, and dependencies.
    • Partner with leadership to define resource plans and timelines.
    • Produce authoritative documentation (as‑built diagrams, baselines, runbooks, lessons learned).
    • Ensure consistent communication with stakeholders, vendors, and facilities throughout both phases.
    • Perform structured risk assessments for each phase and define mitigations.
    • Validate network segmentation, firewall/security policies, and Zero Trust design.
    • Ensure logging, monitoring, and auditing are active for NIST compliance.
