CNC Machinist Lead

About the Opportunity

The CNC Machinist Lead will perform all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of company products. They will provide direction and communications to other employees to ensure that the parts flow meets or exceeds the customer requirements.

Location

Plainville, CT. This position is 100% on site.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direction and communications to other employees to ensure that the parts flow meets or exceeds the customer requirements.
  • Capable of performing CNC machine setups without supervision
  • Change, set and adjust precision tools as required
  • Load, create, and delete programs in the computer
  • Make adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine.
  • Grind own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools).
  • Consistently maintain specific tolerances and accurately perform dimensions
  • Check parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks, reporting improper machine function and/or check parts not being held to the proper dimensions
  • Makes minor repairs
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Shares knowledge willingly with other employees
  • Subject Matter Expert on several types of machines
  • Follow all applicable safety rules and precautions.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test & background check
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Able to read, write, and speak in standard English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Thorough knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before employees in the organization.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the machinability of metals.
  • Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
Compensations & Benefits

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $25-$35 an hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, and geographic location.
