The Production Planner will work closely with the manufacturing team to plan production, manage capacity, and schedule manufacturing to meet customer requirements while balancing factory capacity. Ideal candidates have a strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to think strategically. Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.

• Execute and manage the work order process and reports.
• Forecast shipment impact due to material shortages and communicate to the factory floor.
• Process engineering change notices that affect work orders.
• Escalate critical shortages with buyers/sourcing.
• Provide delivery dates for overdue customer orders.
• Place subcontract purchase orders.
• Analyze and problem‑solve root causes for on‑time delivery misses; implement corrective actions.
• Review daily orders for appropriate lead time.
• Process sales requests for new orders, custom special parts, change notices, and orders released from accounting or engineering holds.
• Calculate, communicate, and enforce lead times for each product line.
• Maintain lead times on the company web portal for assigned product lines.
• Develop, lead, and facilitate the cross‑functional Production, Sales, Inventory (PSI) process for assigned value streams.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze output forecasting, load, and backlog analysis consistent with sales orders and manufacturing capabilities.
• May be assigned additional projects and responsibilities at the discretion of management.

• Associate’s degree required;
  Bachelor’s preferred.
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing setting preferred; internships or co‑op experience considered.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Expert Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, JDE preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact at various organizational levels.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.

The work environment includes frequent hand and arm reaching, standing, squatting, turning, and operating tools or controls. Occasionally, items up to 10 pounds may be lifted or carried. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. The job may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, and workspace restrictions.

Noise levels can occasionally be loud. The employee must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as eye, hearing, or respiratory protection, protective smocks, steel‑toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. The role may require travel by all forms of transportation.
