Job Description **###
** Position Summary
** The Veterinary Technician supports veterinarians in delivering high-quality medical care to patients while providing exceptional service to clients. This role requires strong technical skills, compassion for animals, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.###
** Key Responsibilities
*** Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
* Prepare patients for surgery, monitor anesthesia and recovery
* Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology)
* Perform diagnostic tests and accurately record results
* Administer medications and vaccines as directed
* Take and develop radiographs following safety protocols
* Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
* Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and preventive care
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment
* Properly restrain animals with care and professionalism
* Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance
* Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff###

* Qualifications:

*** Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technician program (preferred)
* Licensed/Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician (preferred / as required by state law) Relevant work experience will be considered
* Previous clinical experience in a veterinary setting required
* Proficient in basic computer skills and practice management software###
** Skills & Competencies
*** Strong animal handling and patient care skills
* Excellent communication and client education abilities
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
* Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies###
** Physical Requirements
*** Ability to stand for extended periods
* Lift and carry up to 40–50 pounds with assistance as needed
* Perform repetitive tasks including bending, kneeling, and reaching###
** Work Environment
*** Fast-paced veterinary hospital or clinic
* Exposure to animals, zoonotic diseases, and medical equipment
* May include evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts###
