Senior Executive Recruiter at LHH/Parker and Lynch

LHH is working with a company in the Plano area that is adding a new Staff Accountant to their real estate accounting team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play an integral role in upholding strong accounting principles while delivering timely and accurate financial information to drive the business forward. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of public accounting experience and will be okay working in a corporate office.

This position consists of month end close duties like posting journal entries, assembling financial reports, and preparing the monthly financial statements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Process and record lot takedown purchases, maintaining precise records of transactions.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, aiding other departments in identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Skillfully create journal entries of both recurring and non-recurring nature, maintaining the integrity of our financial records.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of our financial statements.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to review daily batches, ensuring proper account coding and approvals for both capitalized and operating expenses.
  • Code overhead invoices, verify approvals, and assist in vendor setup and changes.
  • Assist with both internal and external audit requests, ensuring compliance and transparency.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • 1-3 years of real estate accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Competencies:

    Strong ability to meet multiple deadlines, high analytical skills, critical thinking, excellent written and oral communication, and solid organizational abilities.
