Staff Accountant & Financial Analyst

Plano, TX | Part-Time to Full-Time | Hybrid

DFW Dorms & Beyond is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical Staff Accountant & Financial Analyst to support the financial operations of our growing business.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background who enjoys both the day-to-day details of bookkeeping and the bigger-picture analysis behind a growing company. Responsibilities will include maintaining accurate financial records, reconciliations, invoice matching, month-end reporting, sales tax filings, and supporting budgeting and forecasting.

Beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, this position will play an important role in analyzing profitability across our individual products, services, and revenue streams, identifying financial trends and opportunities, and providing meaningful insights to help guide business decisions and continued growth.

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping and general ledger records
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, deposits, refunds, and other financial transactions
• Match vendor invoices to purchases, payments, and supporting documentation
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Manage the month-end close process and prepare monthly financial reports
• Prepare Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and other management reports
• Prepare and file sales tax reports and returns and reconcile sales tax liabilities
• Analyze revenue, costs, gross profit, and profit margins across individual revenue streams
• Evaluate product and service profitability and identify areas of opportunity
• Assist with annual budgets, financial forecasts, and budget-to-actual reporting
• Monitor expenses, cost trends, and financial performance
• Coordinate with our outside CPA and provide documentation for tax preparation and year-end reporting
• Help improve accounting procedures and financial reporting as the company continues to grow

• Has previous accounting, bookkeeping, or financial reporting experience
• Has a strong understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles
• Is experienced with Quick Books Online
• Is proficient in Excel and/or Google Sheets
• Is highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented
• Is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines
• Can independently identify and investigate discrepancies
• Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Can translate financial information into clear, practical insights for ownership
• Is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a growing small-business environment
• Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Retail, e-commerce, inventory, or product-based businesses
• Month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Sales tax preparation and filing
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Profitability and margin analysis
• Product or revenue-stream financial analysis
• Inventory and cost-of-goods-sold accounting
• Creating management reports, dashboards, or financial models

This is a part-time to full-time hybrid position based in Plano, Texas. The role is currently structured as approximately 70% remote and 30% in-office at our office/showroom.

The specific work schedule may vary based on business needs, meetings, reporting deadlines, and other responsibilities. The remote/in-office arrangement is subject to change as the company and position continue to evolve

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
