Centra Funding LLC is hiring for an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant. We need a remarkably responsible candidate with exceptional organizational skills and communication skills who is available to work full-time. This role will provide administrative and clerical support to the Corporation's Paralegal, with an opportunity to work on a variety of legal issues and gain a stronger understanding of the legal profession within the finance industry.
Two years of legal experience required.
- Draft pleadings, prepare bankruptcy proof of claim documents and file accurately and timely with the Court utilizing the Electronic Case Filing system under the guidance of manager.
- Provide administrative support; conduct thorough research.
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, pleadings, and other materials.
- Effectively communicate with legal staff, customers, court clerks and vendors.
- Create legal files relating to bankruptcies, judgments, small claims and prepare for eFiling in Collin County JP Court.
- Search Lexis/Nexis and create Credit Profile Reports for Debtors; review contracts, physical evidence, documents, and legal records to obtain information applicable to a case as directed.
- Participate in staff meetings and take on projects related to the team's goal.
- Preserve an updated case record system.
- Support case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation.
- Maintain and update matters daily using outside counsel daily and monthly updates.
- Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping paralegal’s calendar, scheduling appointments, court dates and provide timely reminders.
- Two to three years of legal administrative experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree recommended.
- Experience in managing cases involving Chapter 7 and/or Chapter 13 is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of project management principles and the eFile Texas system.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage numerous assignments simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional diligence and proofreading.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
- Skill in researching and writing, with a strong knowledge of business correspondence formatting, including language, grammar, and punctuation.
- Initiative-taking with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Performs well under pressure.
