Our mission is to equip people with biblical principles to renew lives, restore families, revitalize churches and reproduce influencers – worldwide. To accomplish this mission we produce radio broadcasts, Bible-based resources, provide training on peer-to-peer biblical counseling, discipleship and leadership development.
About the PositionHope for the Heart is seeking a Part-Time Radio Co-Host for the nightly (Monday - Friday), live Hope in the Night call‑in radio show. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and production of the Hope in the Night (HITN) radio broadcast, including Co‑Host responsibilities. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all technical and production aspects of the live production of the HITN broadcast, including screening/scheduling participant callers, is completed with the highest level of quality.
Hosted by June Hunt, Hope in the Night is a nightly, one hour radio show (Monday - Friday) beginning at 11:00 pm CST. This position will require in‑person work from approximately 10:00 pm – 1:00 am CST, Monday – Friday. Please note that this job is in‑office at our office located in The Hope Center in Plano, Texas and is an hourly, non‑exempt position with a guaranteed minimum pay of four hours per show, even if less than four hours of work is performed.
Responsibilities- Co‑Host and Producer for HITN – Works with HITN Host to prepare for show and acts as announcer and co‑host of radio broadcast.
- Gain and maintain familiarity with all HFTH products and resources.
- Review the upcoming program segments and recognize program needs (e.g. HFTH products and current events to be promoted on air;
Products that might be offered to the caller;
Coordinate a plan for each evening’s opening segment material including review with Host before the program). - Foresee what upcoming special dates to be addressed on air (MLK, 4th of July, etc.) and proactively gather research materials for those special dates, including HFTH conferences, symposiums, courses and webinars.
- Respond to HITN emails, phone calls and voice messages.
- Schedule callers for future program dates and forward scheduled caller information to Host in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with Host’s assistant, program dates for live HITN programs and needed repeat, with a follow-up Outlook meeting request to both of the live or repeat programs (monthly basis).
- Offer Biblically‑based counsel and encouragement, with prayer support for callers as needed, both on‑air and off‑air, as part of call scheduling.
- Responsible for sending out any product that is recommended for each caller.
- Portray discipline and empathy when dealing with callers; show reverence and respect for all situations.
- Comment on caller’s questions and discussion when requested by Host.
- Maintain studio protocol at all times to maintain a professional network‑level production quality.
- Attend special meetings of the Broadcast team when requested, including special‑called meetings for particular needs, consultant meetings, etc.
- A mature, Bible‑believing Christian, who is a member of a local church and can agree to HFTH’s Statement of Faith (https://).
- 3 – 5 years of work experience as a radio/podcast host/co‑host or similar role.
- Excellent technical and computer skills, specifically with the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Outstanding organizational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- High level of emotional intelligence and spiritual maturity.
- While not required, audio engineering or sound mixing experience is preferred.
