We're hiring our second surgeon. The job is three things, done at the highest level: operate, teach, and tell the truth.

Plenty of surgeons can operate. Fewer can teach a nervous patient in plain English. Fewer still will say "not you" or "not yet" when it costs them a case. We want the surgeon who does all three.

Visionary Eye Surgery is a refractive surgery practice in Plano, Texas, founded in November 2025 by Dr. Shehzad Batliwala (Dr Shehz). In our first year, we grew enough to need a second surgeon.

We offer the full refractive menu under one roof. That way, each patient gets the procedure that fits their eyes, not the one we happen to offer.

Our rule with patients is simple: we teach, we don't sell. Every patient gets time, the truth, and room to decide. Patients tell us they chose us because the care feels personal.

We also run a medical eye practice in the same building that has served this community for about 40 years.

You'll be our second surgeon, operating alongside Dr. Shehz from day one.

Here's what success looks like twelve months in. Your surgical schedule is full across the menu. Patients ask for you by name because of something you taught them on video. Optometrists trust you with their patients. And at least one thing here works better because you spoke up.

• Operate across the full menu: LASIK, PRK, SMILE, EVO ICL, refractive lens exchange, and premium cataract surgery.
• Own your consults. Recommend the right procedure, or none  counselors handle pricing. Your job is the truth, not the close.
• Teach on camera. Patient education videos, webinars, seminars, and social video. We handle scripts and production. You bring clarity.
• Earn the trust of our optometry partners through co-management and education events.
• Make us better. Track your outcomes, refine nomograms, review cases together, and present at ASCRS or AAO if you want the podium.

• MD or DO, board-certified or board-eligible in ophthalmology.
• Texas medical license and DEA registration, or eligible and ready to apply now.
• Hands-on case experience in excimer laser surgery (LASIK, PRK) and lens surgery (cataract or refractive lens exchange).
• EVO ICL and SMILE certification, or ready to complete both before you start.
• Willing to be on camera regularly. Not polished. Willing.

• Refractive or cornea fellowship.
• Keratoconus care, such as CTAK or cross-linking.
• A teaching record: talks, videos, a podcast, or an audience you built by educating.
• Spanish.
• Research, publications, or podium time.

• You want to be famous more than you want to be great.
• You'd rather close a case than tell the truth.
• You hide complications instead of learning from them out loud.
• You want a finished machine. We're a year old. Some systems are still being built, and some days run long.

• Mentorship that builds you. Dr. Shehz has performed thousands of procedures. He's double board-certified and trained in refractive and complex anterior segment surgery. He has spent the time to learn from experts in the field, and you get to learn from that expertise.
• A practice that never asks you to sell. No pressure tactics. No urgency pitches. Your name is never attached to a hard close.
• Compensation: 350,000 to 450,000 plus production incentives and depending on experience.
• Ownership: Discussion can start at end of year 1.
• Benefits: malpractice, health, CME, relocation, signing bonus all negotiable.
