Special Education Teacher – Alternative Learning Environment

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join an Alternative Learning Environment classroom. This is a small, highly supported setting designed to meet the needs of students requiring individualized attention and behavioral support. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Special Education Certification and be passionate about creating a positive, structured learning environment.

• Caseload: 2–5 students (Grades 1, 2, and
  6)
• Classroom Support:
  Full-time paraprofessional in the classroom
• Student Needs:
  One student exhibits elopement behaviors; additional behavioral support provided
• Instructional Focus:
  Teaching core subjects, implementing IEP goals, and maintaining compliance with documentation requirements

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to student needs
• Complete and maintain IEP documentation and progress reports
• Collaborate with support staff and related service providers
• Foster a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment

• Valid Special Education Teacher Certification (required)
• Experience working with students with behavioral needs preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
