WE Reference Design Development Engineer

Würth Elektronik is seeking a Reference Design Development Engineer to develop, test, and document reference designs for new products. The ideal candidate will collaborate with customers, product management, and product definition engineers to translate end application requirements into evaluation boards that demonstrate component performance under specific operating conditions.

The Key Responsibilities include:

• Development of reference design eval boards
• Electrical measurements to validate components performance using eval boards, including efficiency, temperature rise, ripple voltage, transient response, and critical waveforms for semiconductor components
• Correlate component performance on eval board to component level parameters
• Create application notes to use the eval boards
• Create test reports of component evaluation on eval boards

The desired Qualifications are:

• Proficiency with CAD for mechanical or physical design, AutoCAD or other
• Proficiency with CAD for circuit design, LT Spice, Spice or other
• Proficiency with CAD for PCB design, Altium, Cadence, PADS, KiCad or other
• Working experience with oscilloscope, vector network analyzer, impedance analyzers, power electronics circuit measurements, efficiency, ripple current, transient response, and test equipment for characterizing passive components
• Soldering and component replacement, trouble shooting hardware issues, personable interaction skills, and written documentation skills

The required Experience includes a BSEE or BSET degree or 5 years of professional experience in electrical design and characterization.
