Design Engineer

Base pay range

$55.00/hr - $80.00/hr

We are seeking a highly experienced and creative Design Engineer to drive the stages of platform development, focusing on complex systems.

This senior role involves translating high-level requirements into innovative, feasible, and optimized designs.

The ideal candidate excels in applying fundamental engineering principles, leveraging advanced computational analysis, and collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.

• Develop innovative and feasible designs for new platforms and engineering systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and trade‑off analyses to evaluate various design options.
• Perform preliminary analyses across multiple engineering domains (e.g., aerodynamic, structural, and propulsion/system analyses).
• Generate 3D models and detailed design documentation using Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software.
• Collaborate effectively with other engineering teams, including avionics, systems, and manufacturing, to ensure fully integrated design solutions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate the latest advancements into conceptual designs.

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, NX).
• Proficiency in computational analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, ANSYS).
• Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Experience with MDAO tools and techniques for optimizing complex engineering systems.
• Experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams, and experience with systems engineering principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative design solutions.

Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
