Henderson Engineers is hiring an Electrical Designer to support the design, coordination, documentation, and delivery of electrical building systems for our business sector, including mission‑critical, data centers, logistics, and warehousing projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare design documents, system layouts, drawings, schematics, and related documentation under supervision.
  • Assist with engineering calculations, basic design tasks, and research on products, systems, and applicable codes.
  • Support the review of shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications and participate in field verification as directed.
  • Collaborate with experienced staff to understand client requirements and project scope, acting as a liaison for client and architect questions.
  • Support project coordination activities, including emails, scope tracking, and schedule coordination.
  • Participate in business development or pursuit activities under direct supervision; occasionally attend client, company, or industry events.
  • Foster a client‑centric mindset and approach in all work and assist with client communication as appropriate.
  • Visit job sites for observation, learning, and professional development opportunities.
  • Continuously expand knowledge and fill gaps in industry or discipline expertise.
  • Develop proficiency in industry‑standard software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) with 1 year of relevant experience, or 4 years with a high school diploma.
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in engineering design and knowledge of A&E industry codes, design guides, and standards.
  • Experience in MEP/construction industry.
  • Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
  • High technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems and processes.
  • Effective critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions.
