As a RAN Wireless SME supporting advanced telecommunications initiatives in Plano, TX via Avacend, Inc., you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of radio access network architecture, call processing telemetry, and air interface troubleshooting. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include analyzing 4G LTE and 5G  layers (PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP), evaluating Massive MIMO and Hybrid Beamforming performance, and operating specialized RF testing tools such as XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark, and Channel Emulators.

• Lead complex radio access network (RAN) engineering initiatives, call processing analysis, and system performance evaluations.
• Architect, evaluate, and optimize 4G LTE and 5G  interface technologies across multi‑vendor carrier environments.
• Analyze detailed protocol layer telemetry covering Physical (PHY), MAC, RLC, Radio Resource Control (RRC), and PDCP layers.
• Optimize advanced wireless features including Massive MIMO, Hybrid Beamforming, LTE‑, and 5G numerology.
• Operate specialized wireless diagnostic tools and drive test software including XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark, and RF Channel Emulators.

• Troubleshoot complex call drop anomalies, handover failures, throughput bottlenecks, and signaling packet loss.

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 12+ years of progressive professional experience in the wireless telecommunications industry.
• Deep specialist expertise in 4G LTE, 5G , RAN architecture, and advanced air interface propagation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of wireless protocol layers: PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, and PDCP.
• Proven practical experience with Massive MIMO, Hybrid Beamforming, LTE‑, and 5G numerology.
• Hands‑on operational proficiency utilizing diagnostic testing tools such as XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark, and Channel Emulators.
• Solid understanding of 3

• Mandatory legal work eligibility in the United States with local residency and availability for onsite operations in Plano, TX.

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Wireless Communications or Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced vendor certifications (e.g., Nokia Bell Labs Certified Expert, Ericsson Certified Associate, Cisco CCIE).
• Prior professional working experience supporting tier‑1 US wireless operators (Verizon, AT&T, T‑Mobile).
• Experience with automated RF data analysis scripts in Python or MATLAB for large‑scale log file parsing.
