About the Role:

The Electrical Engineering Supervisor leads the daily work and development of an electrical engineering team while remaining directly involved in low-voltage equipment design. This role owns the team’s electrical design quality, drawing and BOM accuracy, and on‑time engineering releases from customer submittal through production and factory acceptance testing.

This is a next-step opportunity for a senior electrical engineer with 10+ years of experience and demonstrated leadership. The supervisor combines sound technical judgment, clear priorities, and accountability for team results, focused on UL 891 low-voltage switchboards, UL 1558 low-voltage switch gear, and related low-voltage distribution equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise assigned engineers, allocate work, balance capacity, and set priorities aligned with project commitments and production schedules.
  • Set clear expectations, conduct regular one‑on‑ones and performance reviews, coach employees, and address performance concerns with the Engineering Manager and HR.
  • Develop training and cross‑training plans, mentor engineers in design reviews and troubleshooting, and support interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
  • Build a team culture of respectful communication, ownership, and early escalation.
  • Translate customer specifications, one‑lines, and approved submittals into manufacturable designs.
  • Lead design reviews and approve deliverables within delegated authority, including control schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, bills of materials (BOMs), and complete electrical drawing packages.
  • Verify bus ampacity, equipment short‑circuit and withstand ratings, breaker interrupting ratings, and breaker frames, trip units, accessories, and interlocks for the specified application.
  • Review CT/PT selection, ratios, polarity, burden, placement, and wiring; confirm protection, metering, control power, grounding, bonding, and transfer sequences.
  • Apply UL 891, UL 1558, applicable transfer‑switch standards, NEC, and relevant ANSI/IEEE requirements. Coordinate certification questions and design changes with the responsible compliance personnel.
  • Enforce consistent BOMs, revision control, verify changes remain within applicable product listing requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and project management to resolve interfaces, component substitutions, and schedule constraints.
  • Support production build questions, first article inspections, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Control engineering changes, close customer and production redlines, and maintain alignment between released drawings, BOMs, and the equipment being built.
  • Track release dates, and engineering workload. Report risks and capacity needs, and improve checklists, standard designs, and review practices.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
  • Minimum 10 years…
