Schedule:

Wednesday - Friday 12:30 PM - 11:00 PM;
Saturday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Position Pay Range: $36.40 - $46.92

Summary/Objective

Performs MRI procedures according to protocol and age‑specific needs, including patient preparation. Maintains and monitors the patient environment, adheres to safety procedures, and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit.

Essential Functions
  • Interfaces with patients to ascertain medical history and provide instructions and explanations of the procedure.
  • Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent, screening for surgical implants, contrast allergies, etc.
  • Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the radiologist for interpretation.
  • Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during, and after exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
  • Transfers images to other locations as needed.
  • Coordinates scan protocols with the radiologist.
  • Maintains and regularly inspects equipment, reporting any quality concerns or equipment failures or deficiencies immediately.
  • Communicates with the lead technologist & center/area manager regarding departmental concerns.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, minimized by personal protective equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lit rooms.

Physical Demands

The employee may exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. The employee regularly uses hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently talks and hears. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Job Qualifications
  • Two or more years’ experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) – preferred.
  • Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed.
  • Detail oriented, self‑motivated, a problem solver and a team player.
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to excel in a fast‑paced team environment.
  • Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectations.
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
Education/Certifications
  • Graduate of an accredited registered technologist program.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification with registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or current American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
  • Current license from state medical board (if applicable).
  • Current CPR certification.
