The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who uses the BSWH nursing model to coordinate patient care. The RN assesses patients, identifies nursing diagnoses, develops and implements individualized care plans, evaluates responses, and promotes safe passage for patients.

• Clinical Judgment – Conduct accurate assessments, prioritize needs, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Clinical Inquiry – Evaluate practice quality, support evidence‑based practice, participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Caring Practices – Create a safe, therapeutic environment, manage pain, and prevent suffering.
• Response to Diversity – Incorporate culture, beliefs, and values into care plans.
• Advocacy and Moral Agency – Protect confidentiality, autonomy, and dignity; represent patient concerns.
• Facilitation of Learning – Facilitate learning for patients, families, staff, and community.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited program or 2+ years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
• Major:
  Nursing.
• Experience:
  
  2 years or more of OR experience.

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – BLS or within 30 days of hire or transfer.
