Position: Physical Therapist (PT) Inpatient (PRN)

Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093

Work hours:

PRN/As needed (variable weekdays/weekends) with Weekend and holiday requirements (One holiday per year)

Here’s What You Need
  • Bachelor's Degree, Completion of a Physical Therapy program, upon hire required
  • Acute care experience helpful
  • PT - Physical Therapist, Texas Physical Therapy License, upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English;
    Problem solving ability;
    Ability to teach others;
    Time management skills;
    Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills
What You Will Do
  • Perform age appropriate patient treatment
  • Use therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment
  • Perform treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license
  • Perform or delegate technical procedures appropriately and safely
  • Utilize a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary
  • Determine patient response to treatment and evaluate progress (reassessment)
  • Educate patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self management and assistive equipment
  • Maintain patient safety throughout treatment
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues
  • Demonstrate competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualize care based on age specific needs
  • Motivate non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
