$50.00/hr - $53.00/hr

In need of a Sr. Network Engineer for a 1 year plus contract with a dynamic organization to analyze and test all elements of the network infrastructure and design and implement network solutions based on business requirements. The position is telecommute, contract type, pays $50-53 per hour, works 8am-5pm, and requires a bachelor's degree.

• Analyze and test all elements of the network infrastructure.
• Design and implement network solutions based on business requirements.
• Plan, design, and implement data network infrastructure components.
• Coordinate the development and maintenance of procedures, specifications, and standards.
• Serve as a technical SME in network analysis, design, and engineering.
• Ensure system improvements are implemented and monitored to maximize efficiencies.
• Define, oversee, and support less experienced network engineers in planning, design, and management of network infrastructure components for performance, cost effectiveness, and availability.
• Manage network projects related to technology pilots, conversions, implementations, and more.
• Participate regularly in the audit process.
• Design overall network architecture for an LOB or corporate-wide project.
• Troubleshoot the most complex network issues.
• Establish network priorities aligned with short- and long-term business goals.

• 8-10 years of related network experience.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Experience with routers, hubs, bridges, SNMP Management Tool, POC-based tools, and MS Office.
• BS in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNA and CCNP required; CCIE preferred.
• Expert knowledge of network management tools, test equipment, circuits, and modems.
• Extensive knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol stack and firewall security in inter-network environments.
• Advanced knowledge of X.25, frame relay, Ethernet, and token rings.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service, communications, and presentation skills.
• Ability to mentor less experienced engineers and technicians in resolving complex problems.
• Ability to apply expert network engineering knowledge to complex problems and guide staff.

Cisco/Palo VPN configuration;
Advanced CCNP level WAN routing knowledge;
Palo Alto Firewalls.
