Service Now Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Service Now solutions that align with business requirements. They provide technical leadership, ensure best practices, and optimize Service Now capabilities to support IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), Customer Service Management (CSM), and other modules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing Service Now solutions.
  • Develop architectural blueprints and roadmaps for Service Now platforms.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards.
  • Lead workshops and discussions to gather business and technical requirements.
  • Oversee Service Now configuration, development, and customization.
  • Guide development teams in scripting (JavaScript, Glide API) and integrations.
  • Implement Service Now modules such as ITSM, TPSM, ITBM, CSM, HRSD, and S2P.
  • Manage instance upgrades, patches, and performance optimizations.
  • Design and implement integrations between Service Now and external systems (REST, SOAP, MID Server, APIs).
  • Automate workflows using Flow Designer, Business Rules, and Orchestration.
  • Ensure data consistency and synchronization across integrated platforms.
  • Establish and enforce Service Now development standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
  • Define governance models for instance management, security, and compliance.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to Service Now architecture principles.
  • Provide mentorship to Service Now developers and administrators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive digital transformation.
Technical Skills
  • Strong expertise in Service Now platform and best practices.
  • Experience with Service Now modules (ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, CSM, HRSD, FSM, S2P).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, Business Rules, UI Policies, and Client Scripts.
  • Knowledge of REST, SOAP APIs, MID Server, and integration methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Service Now Performance Analytics, Reporting, and CMDB.
Soft Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to lead and mentor development teams.
  • Experience in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Qualifications & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
  • Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Required.
  • Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – Preferred.
  • Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) – Preferred.
