IT PMO Innovation Manager
This hybrid role is performed 3 days a week at the New Sally Beauty Support Center located in Legacy West in Plano, Texas.
About This RoleThe IT PMO Innovation Manager drives disciplined execution and informed decision-making across the IT project portfolio while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. The role ensures consistent SDLC adherence across all IT projects, facilitates IT PMO ceremonies and governance cadence, and leverages the PPM ecosystem to provide transparent, data‑driven insights into resource demand, project run rates, and overall performance.
It partners closely with IT Leadership, Finance, Architecture, and Delivery teams to ensure projects are properly set up, governed, executed, and closed in alignment with SBH delivery standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- 30% – SDLC Auditing & Project Health Oversight
- Audit all IT projects for adherence to SBH SDLC standards, focusing on schedule, budget, scope, quality, and readiness for the next SDLC phase.
- Review and validate required project artifacts to support leadership approvals and SDLC phase progression.
- Identify risks, gaps, and non‑compliance and partner with project teams and PMO leadership to drive corrective actions.
- 30% – PMO Reporting, Analytics & Decision Support
- Develop, maintain, and execute PMO reporting standards to support IT Leadership decision‑making.
- Leverage the PPM ecosystem to provide insights related to project health, run rates, resource demand, capacity constraints, and overall performance.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of portfolio data used in PMO ceremonies and executive forums.
- 20% – PMO Ceremonies & Governance Cadence Support
- Facilitate IT PMO SDLC ceremonies and governance cadence in partnership with PMO leadership.
- Coordinate data collection and validation for ceremony inputs, ensuring alignment to PMO standards.
- Prepare and present concise summaries, risks, and recommendations to enable informed leadership discussions.
- 10% – Portfolio & Resource Enablement
- Support portfolio-level resource demand planning and workload management.
- Identify trends, constraints, and optimization opportunities across the IT portfolio.
- 5% – Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Work with the PMO team to identify and implement initiatives that improve forecasting accuracy, strengthen cross‑team hand‑offs, and drive clearer alignment across SDLC phases and PMO ceremonies.
- Help cultivate new ideas into outcomes that improve PMO effectiveness and delivery maturity.
- 5% – Enterprise Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong partnerships across IT and the enterprise, including Digital, Solution Delivery, Infrastructure & Operations, Finance, and Vendor Management.
- Guide leaders, SMEs, and vendors in defining business needs, problem statements, success measures, and delivery storylines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to synthesize data across budget, timeline, scope, and resource dimensions.
- Demonstrated experience with SDLC governance processes and project lifecycle management.
- Self‑motivated professional with the ability to work independently, proactively identify issues, and drive work forward in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
- High proficiency with PPM and delivery tools such as Quickbase, Clarity, Planview, Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Box, and reporting or automation platforms including Microsoft Power Apps and/or Power BI.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a complex portfolio.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with comfort presenting to leadership.
Physical Requirements
This hybrid role requires onsite presence at the corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of office, meeting and training rooms, and occasional travel. The work is sedentary; occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, and use of a keyboard are expected. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
The office is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
