DescriptionLead Liberty Mutual’s global shift to a cloud‑first virtual app and desktop experience. As Engineering Manager for Virtual Applications and Virtual Desktop, you will own the journey from legacy Citrix to Microsoft Remote App, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Windows 365—powering how 60,000+ people work every day. Deliver outcomes including retirement of Xen App, cost savings, user satisfaction, patch compliance, and platform modernization.
Responsibilities- Own end‑to‑end engineering and operations for virtual applications and desktop platforms, including roadmap, service health, SLAs, performance and cost.
- Define and track KPIs (login time, connection success rate, session stability, cost per user, CSAT/NPS).
- Monitor team effectiveness, remove roadblocks, manage dependencies, and continuously improve engineering flow and quality.
- Lead hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and professional development for the team.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Networking, and Tech Support to deliver a reliable, secure, cost‑effective service.
- Advocate for removal of technical debt and champion agile practices.
- Minimum of five years’ experience delivering software solutions in an agile environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology field.
- 3+ years of people‑leadership experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and management skills.
- Experience operating collaboratively and building consensus across cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Knowledge of technology standards, architecture, and best practices.
