We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to manage and optimize data movement between external partners and internal platforms. The role is centred on Databricks and Snowflake. You will help modernize legacy data platforms and bring new data sources into the organization.
We want someone with strong technical depth who can also lead. You will give technical direction on enterprise-scale data engineering work, and the role has potential to grow into a broader people-management position.
Primary SkillsDatabricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Java, Python, data engineering, data migration, data platform modernization, data integration, scalable data pipelines and AWS/EMR.
What You Will Do- Manage and optimize data movement between external partners and internal platforms
- Lead large-scale data platform modernization, including migrations from Amazon EMR to Databricks and from EMR to Snowflake
- Build scalable data pipelines and data integration frameworks
- Run enterprise-scale data ingestion and transformation
- Integrate new data sources, including external third-party data sources, across the organization
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the data engineering team
- 10+ years of data engineering experience (12+ preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Python
- 3 to 4+ years of Databricks
- 3 to 4+ years of Snowflake
- Strong experience with Apache Spark
- Experience leading large-scale data platform modernization
- Technical leadership and mentoring experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- AWS and Amazon EMR
- Data migration experience
- Cloud data platform experience
