This Data Center Operations System Engineer role focuses on managing critical infrastructure in Lambda's Plano, TX data center, including server deployment, hardware troubleshooting, inventory management, and coordination with support teams to maintain world-class AI computing infrastructure.
What You'll Do- Rack, label, cable, and configure new server, storage, and network infrastructure in data centers
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in advanced AI computing systems
- Document data center layout and network topology using DCIM software
- Manage parts depot inventory and track equipment through the complete deployment lifecycle
- Coordinate with supply chain, manufacturing, and hardware support teams on infrastructure deployment and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with installation standards and documentation for consistency across all data centers
- Familiarity with critical data center infrastructure systems including power distribution, airflow management, environmental monitoring, and capacity planning
- Knowledge of DCIM software, structured cabling, and cable management practices
- Strong attention to detail with ability to follow technical instructions precisely
- Action-oriented mindset with willingness to learn new systems and technologies
- Willingness to travel for new data center site deployments
- Experience troubleshooting server hardware
- Knowledge of network topology and design
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as JIRA or Zendesk
- Linux administration experience
- Experience in large-scale distributed data center environments
- Experience with Supermicro and NVIDIA hardware platforms
