YOUR DAY TO DAYWe are seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead complex, high-value NPD, IRAD, and customer-driven hardware programs from post-sale through industrialization and delivery. This role owns scope, schedule, budget, and risk and serves as the primary execution interface for customers and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in custom, regulated hardware programs, is comfortable managing multi-million-dollar programs, and can operate effectively in a matrixed, multi-site environment. This role is highly customer-facing and requires the ability to balance commercial, technical, and operational priorities while driving predictable execution.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE TO- Own $20M+ programs, managing multiple concurrent programs or flagship initiatives.
- Lead scope, schedule, budget, and risk from post-sale through delivery and industrialization.
- Develop and maintain integrated program plans, schedules, and financial forecasts.
- Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to track cost and schedule performance and drive corrective actions.
- Drive on-time delivery across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality.
- Proactively identify and resolve execution risks, priority conflicts, and resource constraints.
- Act as the primary interface for customer-driven and IRAD programs.
- Lead executive-level customer reviews, communications, and issue resolution.
- Serve as the voice of the customer to senior leadership.
- Support contract negotiations and change management in partnership with Sales, Product Management, and Finance.
- Own customer change control, including scope, margin, and schedule impacts.
- Contribute to Statements of Work (SoWs) for new programs.
- Support RFP/RFQ responses, including scope, schedule, risk, and cost inputs.
- Work with Contracts and Finance to ensure alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Interpret and execute programs under government contract frameworks.
- Lead matrix teams across functions and sites in the US and Canada.
- Support manufacturing transfer and production ramp activities.
- Drive accountability and decision-making in a complex, multi-site environment.
- Lead programs involving regulated products, including aerospace/defense and medical-adjacent hardware.
- Ensure compliance with standards such as MIL-STD, CE, FDA, ISO 13485, MDR.
- Mentor PMs and Order Management Specialists.
- Strengthen execution discipline, phase-gate adherence, and PMO best practices.
- Analyze program financial data and maintain a strong understanding of program budgets, ensuring adherence to financial objectives while maximizing profit and cash flow.
- Develop and manage integrated Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)-based budgets and schedule baselines, including management reserves, particularly for advanced development programs or complex subcontracts.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and capitalize on opportunities to achieve technical, financial, and business goals.
- Lead risk mitigation and opportunity capture activities, ensuring balanced strategies that address program challenges while aligning with overall business objectives.
- 10–15 years of program or project management experience in complex hardware and manufacturing environments.
- Experience delivering aerospace and/or defense programs, including exposure to government contracts.
- Track record managing multi-million-dollar programs ($20M+).
- Proven ownership of custom-engineered, customer-facing programs from pre-award through delivery.
- Demonstrated experience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) for cost and schedule control.
- Strong understanding of regulated product development and manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of RF systems, high-voltage technologies, or power electronics strongly preferred.
- Ability to influence technical decisions at a system level while remaining execution focused.
- Strong commercial judgment, including contract interpretation, change control, and customer negotiations.
