About the Organization

We are a global Christian ministry dedicated to equipping followers of Jesus to evangelize the world and establish the church through a biblically based, church-multiplication approach. For more than 30 years, our ministry has pursued a holistic strategy that emphasizes going, making disciples, baptizing, and teaching in order to plant and strengthen new churches. Through strategic partnerships with thousands of churches and international congregations, we connect believers globally to advance Jesus' Great Commission both locally and internationally.

Position Overview

The Senior Vice President of Development is a full-time, executive leadership role responsible for leading and growing all development and fundraising initiatives across the ministry. Reporting to executive leadership, this role oversees the strategy for donor engagement—including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and philanthropic partnerships—and ensures full alignment with our Christian mission and long-term kingdom vision.

The ideal candidate will manage a dedicated development team, set revenue targets, guide budgeting and resource allocation, and track fundraising performance to sustain and expand our global gospel impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising and donor engagement strategies across major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and philanthropic partnerships to fund ministry initiatives.

Donor Cultivation & Stewardship: Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with major donors, kingdom investors, and strategic ministry partners.

Team Management: Lead, mentor, and empower the development team, fostering a Christ-centered culture of collaboration, excellence, and accountability.

Financial Planning & Budgeting: Set strategic revenue goals, manage departmental budgets, and oversee resource allocation to ensure sustainable financial growth for the ministry.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with program, church planting, and communications teams to build compelling cases for support that highlight God's work through the ministry.

Operations & Reporting: Implement best practices in donor database management, fundraising operations, analytics, and project management to track performance and optimize initiatives.

Representation: Represent the ministry at Christian events, conferences, and high-level donor gatherings.

Qualifications

Donor Development Expertise: Proven track record in Planned Giving, Major Gifts, and Philanthropy, with a demonstrated ability to cultivate and steward high-value, long-term donor relationships.

Annual Giving Strategy: Deep proficiency in designing and executing annual giving campaigns that broaden the donor base and drive recurring financial support.

Financial Acumen: Strong expertise in budgeting, financial forecasting, and aligning financial resources with strategic ministry priorities.

Project & Team Leadership: Exceptional project management capabilities with a proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and guide development professionals.

Executive

Experience:

Extensive background in nonprofit or Christian ministry fundraising leadership, preferably at the senior management or executive level.

Faith & Mission Alignment: A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and full alignment with biblical values, the Christian faith, and our church-multiplication mission.

Communication: Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate a compelling narrative to diverse faith-based audiences.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree or relevant certifications such as CFRE are a plus).
