Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Texas Health Plano, 6200 W. Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093

Work hours:

Full Time-Nights (6:45 pm-7:15 pm; Three - 12 Hours Shift) for 36 hrs./week. Self-scheduling, no set schedules and rotating days

Labor & Delivery highlights:
  • 17-LDR's (Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms)
  • 4 OR suites
  • 350-400 deliveries per month on average
  • Separate Antepartum/High Risk OB department
Here’s What You Need
  • Associate degree Nursing required or Nursing Diploma
  • BSN (Preferred)
  • 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program (Required)
  • 1 Year of Labor & Delivery experience (Preferred)
  • Baby catching experience (Helpful)
  • Charge Nurse Labor & Delivery experience (Preferred)
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required upon hire)
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (Required) And
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required) And
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days (Required) And
  • IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring 6 Months (Required upon hire) And
  • NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required) And
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
What You Will Do
  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
